Green Grass Fields Under Skies Of Fire

I wrote this as an apology a while back. To this day it's still true.

In green grass fields under skies of fire,
They watch the world melt around them.
Like an old photograph, it fades,
Leaving nothing but charred remains.

His eyes shut,
His truths turn to lies.
He tries to hold on,
As she slips away.
His world gone,
Hers destroyed.
They remember that night.

Green grass fields,
Under skies of fire.
Everything stops,
Just for them.
In her eyes,
He is lost.
In his arms,
She feels safe.
Their love leads them,
To where forever awaits.

Still his world,
He looks for her.
Searching for,
What was lost.
Secretly,
She hopes.
He'll find her,
Where she's always been.

Green grass fields,
Under skies of fire.
Everything stops,
Just for them.
In her eyes,
He is lost.
In his arms,
She feels safe.
Their love leads them,
To where forever awaits.

Now she's found,
And for one lost forever.
He is lost,
She feels safe.
Under skies of fire,
In green grass fields.
